Building with Nature Assessor Training
This course provides you with an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of high-quality green infrastructure and the fundamentals of the BwN Standards and Assessment and Accreditation process. It offers delegates a route to qualified Assessor status and listing as an Approved Building with Nature Assessor.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A BWN APPROVED ASSESSOR?
The first step to achieving a Building with Nature Award is for a client (applicant) to appoint and work with a BwN Approved Assessor. It is the role of the Approved Assessor to support the applicant and their team through the process of interpreting and applying the Standards within the context of their project or policy document. In-turn the Approved Assessor gathers evidence to undertake the assessment in application for a BwN Award. Once complete, the Approved Assessor submits their assessment to Sintali, who undertake an audit of that assessment, make the Award Decision and issue Award certificates to successful projects.
Assessments of projects or policies that successfully complete Accreditation are granted a certified Building with Nature Award and are listed here.

WHO SHOULD TRAIN AS AN ASSESSOR?
Building with Nature is a qualitative suite of Standards focused on green infrastructure, candidates wishing to qualify as an Assessor and get the most from the course should be comfortable with and have an ability to make professional ‘expert’ judgements on the basis of reviewing technical documents, design drawings and masterplans. We therefore recommend prospective candidates hold, or are working towards full or chartered membership of one or more of the following professional bodies:
· Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
· Landscape Institute (LI)
· Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
· Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM)
If you do not hold a chartered membership of one of the above, or another suitable professional body, you can join the training and follow the qualification route providing you have relevant industry experience that gives you a strong grounding in green infrastructure
